Professional History
While preparing to study at Michigan State University, Mr. Velker decided to begin his career in the United States Air Force where he was quickly promoted within the Security Forces (SF) Career Field.  Andrew was deployed to the Persian Gulf in direct support of Iraqi/Enduring Freedom.  His management and leadership attributes led to mission success and the safe return of his troops and leadership.  Upon his return from his deployment, he was selected as a SF Career Field Instructor.  While serving that role, he became a Master Instructor of the largest police training academy in the world, 500+ instructors and 15,000 in students, to include foreign contingent.  Andrew’s academic experience reaches around the globe through his studies and training around the world.  While serving this role, he created Instructional Systems Design programs and implemented the first-ever computer based training at the academy.  

After separating from the Air Force, Andrew immediately put his education to use.  He was hired by a Sales & Importing Company as a Sales Manager.  Andrew excelled as a sales manager where he managed a multi-million dollar inventory from purchase ordering to transportation.  His communication skills led him back to the podium where he became product show representative speaker and performed at selling product, design and innovation, which led to the increase in company sales and infrastructure.

Education
Andrew was awarded his Masters Degree from Webster University’s School of Business Technology in Business Management and Organizational Leadership.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from Wayland Baptist University and he received two Associates Degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in Instructional Technology in Military Science and Criminal Justice.            
 
Community Involvement
Among various technology associations, Andrew is also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Naperville Illinois.  He is actively involved in the United States Air Force Sergeants Association, where he continues to fight for his troops.

Family
When Andrew takes a break from his profession, he enjoys his time in Naperville where he resides with his wife of ten years, Erica and their three children:  Malia (7), Aidan (5) and Averi (3).  They actively facilitate community involvement through intramural sports and coaching their children’s sports and recreation activities.
